The DJ's story:

Raul Saaremets has been a fixture of Estonian music since the early 1990s, when he started Raadio 2's now-legendary electronic show Tühi Tuba and helped wire post-Soviet Tallinn into the European underground. As a DJ and producer he's spent three decades digging wider than any single genre — Baltic folk recordings, dub, leftfield house, Estonian jazz reissues — and turning them into long-form sets that feel more like guided listening than club nights. He's a regular at HALL and Sveta Baar, programmes a stage at Station Narva, and curates the kind of crates that make younger Tallinn DJs nervous in a good way. When he's not in a booth he's at the radio station, reminding everyone that the point was always the music.
